How many times have you said to yourself or someone else: “I’ll never do that again”? Then you did that very same thing again. You feel the guilt, shame, and hypocrisy but you wind up doing that very same thing another time and another time.
The struggle is real not only for me but for all of us. It makes no sense to sit around feeling bad about it or beating yourself up about it but sometimes I do.
Whether it is quitting gossiping, lying, cussing, alcohol, narcotics, pornography, smoking, risky sexual behavior, staying in bad relationships, or always leaving a good job, there comes a time when a person has got to make a decision that they don’t want to engage in certain behaviors anymore. Whatever your desire is, you’ve got to fight. The best way to fight is in prayer. That’s right. We wrestle against evil principalities in high places. Therefore, we should fight in the spirit doing spiritual warfare against that dirty devil. And let me enlighten you: we can only fight the devil with God as the head of our lives. The devil has supernatural power but God is in control of everyone and everything including the devil. The devil has to get permission from God. Sometimes if we are non-compliant with our obedience, God will make us do what we just can’t do or won’t do. He uses everyone to bring us into right relationship with him including the devil. GOD has amazing grace and mercy for us, which is why he woke you up this morning. Since GOD has so much grace for us, we need to extend that grace to others. Let's work in the blessing business extending grace to everyone including ourselves. Then we can be in right relationship with GOD. He sees us. He knows and He will perform a miracle and clean us up on the inside even if He has to hurt us in order to do it. GOD can bless us anyway He wants to because He is the One and Only Sovereign GOD.
