Exercising: It Ain't Easy But Do it!

I’m not sure about you but seeing an Instagram model nudges me to want to work out more. Anybody out there know what I'm talking about? The girl with a six-pack whose hair is in a perfectly perky ponytail with the cutest workout outfit gets me going, but only for a little while. I am constantly losing and gaining the same ten pounds over and over again. I hate my rollercoaster body! I want to be fit all of the time. I know I'm not alone.

If we want to be fit, we must do a couple of things that we are reluctant to do. We have to change the way we eat. We must also exercise regularly. Who wants to change the way they eat or exercise? I know I don't but I force myself to do it when I need it the most. However, the goal is to make healthy eating and exercising a habit. We must make it a lifestyle.

I want to be the 52-year-old with a six-pack. I had a six-pack for most of my life. It was easy to achieve because I was naturally fit. Now that I am fighting the fat on a daily basis because my metabolism slowed up, my six-pack seems like a thing of the past. But guess what? I WANT MY BODY BACK! I think most women want their body back. The body of a twenty-something or a thirty-something is a thing of beauty. We can get our younger body back but it is going to take commitment and a lot of work. Let's get it!

HEATHY EATING

The easiest thing do is to reduce or eliminate your carbohydrate intake. Here's how:

  1. Curb your intake of sugar-sweetened drinks.

  2. Cut back on refined grain bread.

  3. Think about fruit juice.

  4. Choose lower-carb snacks.

  5. Start your day with eggs or other lower-carb breakfast foods.

  6. Use sugar alternatives.

  7. Consider the carb content of restaurant meals.

  8. Substitute alternative flours for white flour.

EXERCISE

The easiest thing to do is to do something. I don't care what it is.

  1. Jumping jacks

  2. Swim

  3. Run

  4. Walk

  5. Lift weights

  6. Sit-ups

  7. Kettlebell

  8. Aerobic Dance

I'm doing an accountability blog once a week. This will keep me on track. I hope you check back here to see me on my weight loss journey. I weigh 162 lbs. today. Here is my latest picture.

If you want, you can post your progress and pics here in the comment section on this blog. Let's get it together! See you next Wednesday for a weigh in! Summer is coming!

Here I am purposely engaged in living an inspired life!

Peace & Blessings,

Rachel Mason
