Soul Healing
A lot of people suggest ways to heal your mind, body, and soul. I'm no different. I read a lot of self-care books, and I have been in therapy on and off since I was molested as a child and raped at the age of fifteen. I had to incorporate a lot of healing techniques in my life just to be here today. Let me tell you: Life is hard after sexual assault. I did NOT want to be here. The reality is I still wish I could be in heaven with Jesus but I know He wants me here to help other people get through what I have already been through. With that being said, I am imparting some soul healing techniques on you today.
Reconnect with GOD
You need a personal relationship with GOD. I can honestly say that I cannot even count how many times I wished I was dead. I am not going to reveal how many times I tried to commit suicide but I've attempted in my past. This place called earth is not my home. It is too wicked down here for me. I want to be safe in the arms of my Jesus in heaven where there is no more crying, no more dying. I didn't step back into my life until I walked into a Bible-based church. Jesus wrapped His loving arms around me in spite of my sinful self. I love Jesus. He is the reason I am purposely engaged in living an inspired life. If it was up to me, I wouldn't be here. Flat out! I'm here because GOD still wants me here. He comforts me. He counsels me. He loves me in spite of me. He forgives me. He shows me undeserved grace and mercy. He is everything I need to keep going in this evil world. I talk to Him when I pray. He talks to me. He guides me. He shapes me. He gives me another chance over and over again. I found my purpose in life when I found Jesus. He blesses me beyond my wildest imagination. I implore you to try my Jesus out. Just pray. Reconnecting with GOD leads you to your inner strength, self-worth, and confidence that you need in order to be a force in this world.
Write a Letter to Yourself
An excellent way to keep tabs on your growth is to write a letter to not only your past self, forgiving yourself for what you know you did wrong, but also to write a letter to your future self. In writing a letter to your future self, we get to reflect on where we were and where we are now and where we are going. Please forgive yourself, humble yourself, look at what you accomplished, look at how you are changing, look at where you want to be at a certain age. It's okay to pick an age in the future and go from there. Please acknowledge how you've blessed others in your lifetime, and how you were able to see GOD in your life so you can know that He loves you, which will make it easier to love yourself. I've done this exercise. I love myself now but I'm feeling a greater love for myself coming. This task will help you love yourself more because you will be discovering you. You'll feel good reflecting on your achievements, and you will also find a sense of hope. You need hope just to make it through your day--everyday.
Find a Fun Hobby
You can lift your spirit by finding a hobby that brings you fun, pure enjoyment. Your soul will thank you just because you did something fun. When was the last time you did something fun just for you? When we are having fun, our spirit is free from all cares and confinements. Allow your soul to let go and just feel the joy that will surely follow when you find your fun hobby. It can be a sport, craft, art, dancing, boating, rollerskating, or any fun activity. Free yourself!
It will take some time for your soul to heal from all your pain and abuse. It's important to start the healing process as soon as possible. We don't have much time here on earth. Since GOD created us, it's best to put Him first. The very first thing we all need to do when we wake up is talk to our Creator. After all, GOD is our Daddy. Everything else flows from there.
Well, there you go! In this video that I had archived, I am talking to GOD through dance, writing a letter through the lyrics, and enjoying a hobby. This is my story.
Here I am purposely engaged in living an inspired life!
Blessings,
Rachel Mason
