Roe v. Wade: The Draft Opinion

Updated: May 4, 2022

The Supreme Court of the United States has written a majority opinion that was leaked to the public overturning Roe v. Wade.

According to Politico, the draft opinion is an unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right.

Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Justice Alito writes in the draft opinion.

There was a time in history where countless women died trying to free themselves from an unwanted pregnancy. Whether a woman was in an abusive relationship, raped, sexually assaulted or just having premarital sex, the unwanted pregnancy made women take extreme risks to get an abortion.

Many women agreed to having coat hangers inserted in their vaginas in an effort to get rid of the fetus in their bodies. I want to reiterate that a lot of women died from undergoing illegal abortions before Roe v. Wade made abortions safe and legal.

After the Roe v. Wade ruling, women everywhere breathed. They no longer had to put their life at risk by undergoing dirty abortions. Women gained the right to decide what they wanted to do with their bodies without male governmental interference.

Whether you are for or against abortion, know this: The only One that can tell me what to do is my Father who art in heaven. As God’s children, He knows we fall short of the glory of GOD every single day so He will forgive us for our sins if we repent.

There was a time when I thought it was okay to have an abortion no matter what the reason. Now that I am older I think that abortions are wrong because of GOD’s commandment: “Thou shalt not kill.“ It’s simple. GOD said it so there it is!

I already know that my stance on abortion will not be popular amongst my peers. I will say that it should be a woman’s choice. While I’m not in favor of abortions anymore, I am in favor of a woman’s decision to choose. I’m not imposing my personal choice on anyone. At the end of life, we all have to answer to GOD for our sins. Personally, I’m running to the Throne of Grace.

Aint nobody perfect.

Here I am purposely engaged in living an inspired life!
