The ketogenic diet is very popular these days. What is the ketogenic diet? The ketogenic diet (or keto diet, for short) is a low carb, high fat diet that offers many health benefits. In fact, many studies show that this type of diet can help you lose weight and improve your health.
Ketogenic diets may even have benefits against diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. I'm doing the diet right now. I lost 2 pounds in 2 days. So far so good! I have been shopping for keto-friendly food for a week now. I'm picking up a little at a time. I'm pondering the safety of the keto diet though. I read that the ketogenic diet increases your risk of heart disease. I decided to go on the keto diet anyway. I'm trusting GOD to keep me a little while longer. I'm trusting that I will lose a lot of weight on the keto diet in conjunction with plenty of exercise.
THE BENEFITS OF THE KETO DIET
Loss of Appetite
If you are having a hard time taming your cravings, don't worry. Be happy. On Ketosis, you won't feel exhausted. You won't even have a rumbling gut. The keto diet will help you say "no" to that piece of cake or scoop of ice cream that you crave. Once your body is running off of fat as opposed to carbohydrates, you will experience a drop in your appetite that will work wonders for your body.
Since the body is forced to produce only a small amount of glucose, it will lower your insulin production. When that happens, your kidneys will start getting rid of the extra sodium, which will lead to weight loss.
Low Risk of Diabetes
Although this probably goes without saying, it is essential to mention this one. When you ditch the carbs, your body is forced to lower the glucose productivity significantly, which leads to a lower risk of diabetes, including a reverse in the actual condition of diabetes itself. Of course, talk to your doctor first before going on the keto diet if you have diabetes.
Improved Brain Function
Many studies have shown that replacing carbohydrates with fat as an energy source leads to mental clarity and improved brain function.
SHOULD YOU TRY THE KETO DIET?
Well, let me say it like this: I can't tell you what to do. As for me, it is a resounding YES! The keto diet can help you lose weight and keep it off. When you are eating healthier and exercising, you'll be joining a community of people who are successfully losing weight and keeping it off.
My advice: I bought a Keto Cookbook. It's easier to do the diet when you know what to do. It's simple.

This photo is the BEFORE shot. This was before my ketogenic diet results. Looks like I might have to stay on keto a little bit longer now and stick to my exercise plan. You can see why I needed to do something just like I need to do something now. By the way, my cellulite went away after I loss the weight on keto. I didn't even know that was possible! LOL! Well, here I go again.
