3 a.m.

Updated: Feb 13, 2022

When I wake up at 3 a.m. in the morning, it frustrated me to no end. Of course, I always had to do a bathroom run, which was fine. When you gotta go, you gotta go but man! Why am I waking up every morning at 3 a.m.? What's up with that? I tried counting sheep, lavender tea, melatonin, and Trazodone--nothing kept me sleep for the entire night--not even the sedative Trazodone. Imagine the agony!

One day a very wise man, Reverend Arthur, a professor at Moody Seminary, told our class that if you wake up every day around the same time regardless of your circumstances, GOD is trying to tell you something. What a revelation! My despair turned into joy instantly because I have been wanting and waiting for GOD to talk to me for a long time. I know that GOD speaks to us through scripture and circumstances but I wanted to hear Him.

Now, people say if you hear a voice and you don't see anyone, you have a classic case of schizophrenia, and they might even try to dope you up on heavy psychotropic medications that transform you into a zombie so you don't hear the voice. However, I am here to tell you don't worry about what people say because believe me when I tell you that it is in your best interest to hear from the Living GOD.

The Living GOD, the only wise GOD, GOD Almighty is the Creator of the world. When you hear from GOD, He guides you, He comforts you, He gives you a blessed assurance that He is with you. So, how do you hear from GOD? Be still. When I say be still, I mean literally and biblically.

When GOD wakes you up, start praying but stay open and receptive. Don't say Amen. Instead say, "I am here, LORD, your servant is listening." Then, be still and wait. I used to ask everyone in ministry, "How will I know if it's GOD?" I never did get the answer I was looking for because I wanted a description of His voice. Instead, the go-to answer was always--"You'll know."

I hope this post helps you draw nearer to GOD. I hope you talk to Father-GOD every day because I know He wants to hear from us every day. He's our Daddy, and He loves us. The best place to be is in the very hollow of Father-GOD's hands.

Here I am purposely engaging in inspired living!

Blessings,

Rachel Mason
